Well, it's been....*looks down at blog post date, does double take*...3 years. Oops.
I haven't been intentionally neglecting the blog. COVID got crazy in 2020 and I got pretty serious with a nice, handsome gentleman who had a good head on his shoulders through several crises. Then I got married to said nice, handsome gentleman in 2021. My husband and I started a small business. Then everything kind of exploded in 2022 and nice, handsome gentleman once again proved he had a good head on his shoulders through several crises. (Let's just say it involved 3 funerals, lots of doctor's visits, and, well, more doctor's visits, and funeral aftermath and funeral planning and...general unpleasantness. 2022 was not a nice year.)
I never meant to stay away from the blog permanently and even considered coming back periodically for updates, but I was never quite sure how much I could commit to giving, so I just let it hang out for a while. I also have put creative writing on hold indefinitely, so I wasn't quite sure where to go with The Book Hound without that element.
It turns out, that in spite of all that has changed in the past 3 years, I still think Christian Speculative Fiction is important and ought to be discussed. So here I am.
If you're interested in what I've been reading for the past few years, you can check out my Goodreads feed. I've kept that pretty well up to date, at least. It will probably continue to be the most consistent way of following new reads and getting brief recommendations.
I am not going to make any promises regarding how up-to-date I am going to keep things. Realistically, I would not expect any sort of regularity in posting and I may occasionally drop off the planet. I understand that this is not a productive way of posting for a blog. Maybe one day I can be super consistent again, but I don't forsee that happening for a while.
In the meantime, I still would like to share some good fiction with you, even if it's only occasionally. So stop back soon, and I hope to engage with you on some good books!
